Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and ScaleGrowth Digital ("ScaleGrowth Digital," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of 18Docs. Your access to or use of any part of the Service — including simply loading a page, running a tool, or creating an account — constitutes acceptance of these Terms in their current form, whether or not you create an account or make a payment. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you and that organization.

2. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available"

18Docs is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScaleGrowth Digital disclaims all warranties, including — without limitation — the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that: the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; any tool, conversion, extraction, compression, signature, redaction, or other output will be accurate, complete, or fit for your purpose; any defects will be corrected; or the Service or the servers that make it available are free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the Service, and rely on any result it produces, entirely at your own risk.

3. Your use is at your own risk and discretion

You are solely responsible for your files, the content you process through the Service, maintaining your own backups, and independently verifying every output before you rely on it, share it, submit it to a third party, or treat it as final. This applies to every tool on 18Docs, including document conversions, merges, edits, redactions, signatures, OCR, compression, generated documents (such as invoices, contracts, NDAs, letters, or resumes), and any AI-assisted output.

Because most 18Docs tools process your file entirely in your own browser and we never receive or store it, we have no ability to retrieve, recover, or reproduce a file or result once you leave or refresh the page — downloading your output before you navigate away is your responsibility. Your decision to upload, open, process, download, or otherwise use any file with the Service is made at your own discretion and risk.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will ScaleGrowth Digital, its officers, employees, contractors, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, revenue, business, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScaleGrowth Digital's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to ScaleGrowth Digital for the Service in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one United States dollar (USD 1).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, some of the limitations and exclusions in this Section 4 may not apply to you, and instead the exclusion or limitation will apply only to the maximum extent permitted by the law of your jurisdiction.

5. No professional advice

Nothing produced by 18Docs — including AI-generated summaries, translations, extracted data, chat responses, or generated documents such as invoices, contracts, NDAs, rent agreements, or proposals — is legal, financial, tax, medical, regulatory, or other professional advice, and none of it should be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional licensed in the relevant jurisdiction.

AI-assisted and auto-generated content in particular may be incomplete, out of date, or factually incorrect. You must independently review, verify, and where appropriate have a qualified professional review any output before you sign, file, submit, rely on, or act on it. You assume full responsibility for any use you make of AI-generated or auto-generated content.

6. Your responsibilities & acceptable use

You represent and warrant that:

• you have all necessary rights, permissions, and consents to upload, open, or otherwise process any file or content through the Service (including the right to remove passwords, restrictions, or protections from a document you process);
• your use of the Service, and every file or piece of content you process through it, complies with all applicable laws and does not infringe, misappropriate, or violate any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
• you will not use the Service to create, process, store, or transmit unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, or malicious content, or content that infringes another person's rights;
• you will not attempt to disrupt, overload, attack, reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorized access to the Service, its infrastructure, or other users' data; and
• where you submit a file produced by 18Docsto a third-party system, portal, examination body, employer, regulator, or counterparty, you are solely responsible for confirming that it meets that third party's requirements (including file size, format, and content rules) — 18Docsdoes not warrant or guarantee that any output will satisfy any third party's requirements.

7. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ScaleGrowth Digital and its officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) any file or content you process, upload, or generate through the Service; (c) your violation of any applicable law; or (d) your breach of these Terms.

8. Your files, third parties & data

How 18Docs handles your files and data is described in full in our Privacy Policy and Security page, which you should read alongside these Terms. In short: most tools run entirely in your browser and your file is never uploaded to us; a small number of server-side tools (for example Office file conversion, OCR, and compression) send your file to our servers over an encrypted connection, where it is encrypted at rest, never logged, and automatically and permanently deleted within approximately one hour; and our AI-assisted tools send only extracted text (not the raw file) to a third-party AI processing provider to generate the result. That provider processes the text under its own terms of service and privacy policy, which are outside our control — we do not control, and are not responsible for, that provider's data handling, retention, or training practices. We do not use your content to train any model of our own, and we do not store that extracted text ourselves. Because we cannot control or guarantee a third-party provider's practices, you should not submit confidential, sensitive, or personal information to AI-assisted tools, and your use of those tools is at your own discretion and risk. We are not responsible for the security or performance of your own device, browser, or network connection, or for any third-party service you choose to send a 18Docs output to.

9. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any tool or feature of the Service, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice. We may also revise these Terms at any time; when we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted, and your continued access to or use of the Service after a revision is posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a revision, your only recourse is to stop using the Service.

10. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service, are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to applicable law, you and ScaleGrowth Digital agree that the courts located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India will have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you access the Service from outside India, mandatory consumer protection laws of your own country of residence may nonetheless apply to you and may grant you rights this Section cannot override; nothing in this Section is intended to displace those mandatory rights where applicable law requires otherwise.

11. General provisions

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for a specific paid plan or feature, constitute the entire agreement between you and ScaleGrowth Digital regarding the Service, and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements on that subject.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. A waiver of any provision on one occasion will not be considered a waiver of that provision, or any other provision, on any other occasion.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms, by operation of law or otherwise, without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms, without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
